McCain to congratulate Obama in ad
Posted: 08/28/08 04:40 PM [ET]
Calling it a “good day for America,” Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain will congratulate his rival Barack Obama in an ad that is to run as the Illinois senator is accepting the Democratic nomination.

Too often the achievements of our opponents go unnoticed,” McCain says in the ad . “So I wanted to stop and say, congratulations.”

Noting that Obama will accept the nomination on the anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I have a dream” speech, McCain adds: “How perfect that your nomination would come on this historic day.”

“Tomorrow, we'll be back at it,” McCain concludes. “But tonight Senator, job well done.”
