Kennedy discharged from hospital
Posted: 05/21/08 09:58 AM [ET]

Massachusetts General Hospital discharged Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) Wednesday so he can recover at his Cape Code home from a cancerous brain tumor.

Kennedy, 76, has been hospitalized since last Saturday after he suffered a seizure, which was caused by a malignant brain tumor.

His doctors said in a statement Wednesday that he has “recovered remarkably quickly from his Monday procedure” and would be released from the hospital ahead of schedule.

“He will return to his home on Cape Cod while we await further tests results and determine treatment plans,” said his doctors, Lee Schwamm and Larry Ronan, in a joint statement. “He's feeling well and eager to get started.”
