Memorial Services for Rep. Matsui |

Congressional colleagues will hold a memorial service today for Rep. Robert Matsui (Calif.), a senior Democrat who died Saturday night of complications from a rare bone-marrow disorder. The service will begin at 12:30 in Statuary Hall in the Capitol and will be limited to Matsui’s family, members of Congress and special guests.
Beginning tomorrow afternoon, Matsui will lie in state for 24 hours at the California Capitol Rotunda in Sacramento. Public memorial services will be held Saturday morning in Sacramento before the California congressional delegation joins Matsui’s family for a private funeral service at Westminster Presbyterian Church. A private burial will follow. |
